Another week, and another chance to spread the gospel of the Sweet Science to my degenerate followers.

If you know me, you’ll know that I think current stable of boxers coming out of the Ukraine are the best in the world. Fighter of the year front runner Oleksandr Usyk is the first to unify the cruiserweight division since Evander Holyfield and will be looking to move into the heavyweight division in 2019. He has the skill and grit to take the top division’s hardware if given the chance, though I don’t see that happening until the end of the year/early 2020 now that there’s a Fury/Wilder rematch in between the winner taking on Anthony Joshua. But enough about my man crush, Usyk. We’re here to talk about his fellow Ukranian, Vasyl Lomachenko and his Puerto Rican opponent, Jose Pedraza.
Pedraza, the current WBO Champion, is coming into the ring .6 lbs under the 135 lb limit. He is able to go both ways but appears to prefer fighting southpaw, though what the fuck do I know. I can hardly tie my shoes in the morning let alone figure out what percent of the time he fights orthodox. He’s listed at 5’8″, has a reach of 70.5 inches, and has a record of 26-1, 12 of which have come by KO. His most recent fight was an upset, unanimous decision to take the title from Ray Beltran. His lone loss came against Gervonta Davis in a fight where Jose was clearly the more talented fighter, but he decided to use the Homer Simpson strategy of eating the less experienced Davis’ punches until he was worn down and then attacking viciously. Well, seeing as he wasn’t facing Boxcar Joe, the strategy backfired and he handed the IBF junior lightweight title over to the 22-year-old Mayweather promotions product.
Lomachenko currently holds the WBA and Ring Magazine lightweight titles. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having securred the gold in the 2008 Beijing games at featherweight and in the London 2012 games at lightweight. The 30 year old stands at 5’7″, weighing in at 134.2 lbs with a 65 inch reach. The southpaw standout is 11-1 with 9 coming by knockout. What is truly impressive about Loma are his 396-1 amateur record (you know we love amateurs here https://whitetrashdaydreams.com/2018/10/02/the-journey-begins/) and his rise to prominence at the professional level. After securing his most recent win against Linares, he became the fastest fighter to claim a title in three divisions, doing so in only 12 fights. For reference, some men you may have heard of and the number of fights it took them to win a title in three weight classes:
Oscar De La Hoya- 22
Floyd Mayweather- 34
Sugar Ray Leonard- 35
Manny Paquiao- 41
The one thing that annoys me about Loma is that every talking head likes to bring up the fact that his parents made him take dance lessons before he took up boxing. Well, I’m sorry if I’m boring you by doubling down but holy shit does it show. The little fucker prances around the ring and creates unimaginable angles that confound opponents into compromising their defenses for a kill shot.

Loma should win this fight by TKO, so bet that @-250. While you’re at it, make sure you throw an extra unit or two down to cover the $50 at minimum you’ll be paying the next time you see him fight. And, if you haven’t seen him fight, do yourself a favor and schedule the time to do so after the Heisman trophy presentation tomorrow night on ESPN. This is a true artist in his prime and it is must see television. As White Trash Day Dreams is first and foremost a smut blog, allow me to present you a porn analogy for the talents of Vasely Lomachenko. Allow me to introduce to you the best pound for pound porn star in the world (we’ll send her an award if you want to make it official,) one Riley Reid. Imagine I told you that tomorrow night, December 8, 2018, is the last time you’ll get to watch the video of her getting banged on an exercise ball for free (those who know me know that this is my comfort porn, my “Lethal Weapon 4 on TNT on a Sunday afternoon” porn) and from here on out not only will your security blanket porn video be behind a pay wall, but all Riley Reid porn was behind a pay wall and any free vids would have to be found in that bizarre screen ratio with Russian watermarks that stolen PPV fights are in. Don’t miss this, as Loma will never be free again.
The fight is on ESPN tomorrow @8:00 CT from Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater. Don’t miss a true artist when performing at their peak. This is the stuff you tell your children about.
